My Love of Lists and Start-Up Idea #1
It’s been over five years since I first wrote this piece about my love of lists and the habit of cataloging startup ideas. In that time, my life, career, and focus have all evolved—but the impulse to document, refine, and revisit ideas remains as strong as ever. My notebooks have expanded beyond just start-up ideas, encompassing patterns, frameworks, and broader insights about technology, media, and engagement.
One idea in particular, City Bingo, keeps coming back to me. It's a concept born out of a transitional period in my life—one of those "what-if" moments where I had to think creatively about the next steps. At its core, City Bingo was all about community engagement, gamifying everyday exploration, and creating connections within a local setting. As I look at where my work has taken me, it’s not lost on me that City Bingo shares a key element with a recent project of mine, Beat the Buzzr: both leverage gamification to drive engagement and interaction.
