Apologies for getting this NAB wrap-up out later than planned — but I left Vegas and went straight into a keynote at Chapman University for their Entertainment & Sports Law Symposium on AI in Media.
Consider this the first in a new series I’m calling The Sidebar — a place for the stuff that doesn’t quite fit into a big essay or a trend piece. Just notes from the week. What I saw. Who I ran into. This one will really be what stuck with me walking around Vegas for six days trying to pay attention.
But first, Chapman was an incredible event, bringing together voices from across law, technology, and entertainment to wrestle with the messy, exciting future of AI in creative work. I was honored to give the keynote alongside Charlie Fink, and I owe a huge thank you to Professor Judd Funk for the invitation (and to Peter Csathy for the referral, delivered in classic Peter fashion: "I can't do it, I'll be at Coachella dancing my ass off").
