As we all head toward IBC 2025 and look to see what new automations and innovations get unveiled, it’s worth remembering that we need more than computer science to make them meaningful. We have spent the last several decades teaching people how to code. Entire generations have been told that the way to secure their future is through computer science, data science, or engineering. Learn to build the systems and you will have a place in the future. I myself have advised multiple friends' children to get a CS degree alongside whatever their passion is, whether its arts, economics, or medicine. In part this has been because so many of those industries have seen automation encroach that I felt strongly the best way to be armed was to speak both languages.
